Usefull Git Commands Cheat sheet

In this tutorial we learn the basic git commands

1) Set the username to be used for all actions

git config –global user.name

2) Set the email to be used for all actions

git config –global user.email

3) Initialize an empty Git repo in the current project

git init

4) Clone the repository from GitHub

git clone [repo url]

5) Clone the repository into a specific folder

git clone [repo url] [folder path]

6) Check the name of remote repositories

git remote

7) Shows the name and the URL of the remote repositories.

git remote -v

8) Removes the remote repository

git remote rm (remote repo name)

9) Changes the URL of the repository

git remote set-url origin (git repo URL)

10) Get the latest changes from the origin but not merge.

git fetch

11) Get the latest changes from the origin and merge them

git pull

12) Add the current changes to the file to staging state

git add (file name)

13) Add the all file changes at once

git add
